Welcome to my worlds

I love making theatre in as many ways as I can - particularly through playwriting, devising, and solo performance. My work is intellectually stimulating for its creators and its audiences alike; I strive to challenge pre-existing perceptions of family, religion, and the human body. I draw from personal experience but fashion it deftly so that it feels like collective memory. Through my writing I grapple with what it means to be a living, caring person in this modern world. I connect so deeply to works that I've had a hand in creating; nothing else fulfills me quite like crafting my own little universes. Take a peek into some of them below:)

A Brand, A Lifestyle

A Brand, A Lifestyle is an original comedic stage-play that satirizes the prevalence of disordered eating habits in gym culture. A cutthroat boutique fitness studio prepares for a long-awaited gala and visit from its illustrious CEO, with competition and chaos erupting along the way. With its biting commentary on diet, exercise, and the constant need for self-improvement, A Brand, A Lifestyle leaves its audience wondering if drinking the Kool-Aid is worth it, even when it’s sugar-free. The play saw its first staged reading at Pace University in March of 2023 and is getting a 29-hour reading at Pearl Studios in March of 2024.

Uncle Jim Called

Uncle Jim Called is a devised adaptation of David Rabe's short story by the same name. The drama follows Emily, a young woman whose deceased uncles begin to haunt her with unsettling memories from her childhood. Uncle Jim Called examines the obligations we feel towards family and the herculean struggle of renouncing them. It was built over the course of one year and premiered in Pace University's Night of Original Work (NOW) Festival in February of 2023.

Kathy Catholic School

Kathy Catholic School is a piece of solo performance that plays irreverently within the hypocritical and puritanical confines of a private, Catholic institution. The ever-devout and doe-eyed Kathy takes her audience on a tour of her high school, but she begins to unravel when her burgeoning desire for intimacy clashes with the teachings of her faith. This piece is currently in development; segments of it have been workshopped in class at Pace University over the past year and a half.

Flicker, Flame, Firecracker

Flicker, Flame, Firecracker is an original dramatic stage-play about a trio of sisters whose relationships are challenged when the oldest commits a violent crime. In facing the consequences of her actions, the eldest sister begins to lose her grip on reality, forcing her siblings to reconcile this new person with the one they loved so fiercely. The play is a tribute to ambiguous grief and the painful, yet necessary process of taking space from those who hurt us. It saw a series of small virtual workshops in the spring of 2021 and an invited Zoom reading in January 2022.
